Itenarary

Itinerary always varies depending on arrival and departure times. However it usually looks like following:

Day 1:

  • arrival to Dubai or Abu Dhabi airport
  • transfer to Al Ain (1:30 hours)
  • settling to the Hotel room

Day 2: (100+ kms)

  • Breakfast in the hotel,
  • Transfer to the start point,
  • Setting up and inspection of the bikes,
  • First ride is always a run-in:
  • getting used to the weather conditions,
  • making yourself comfortable with the bike,
  • familiarizing with the terrain, learning how to read the dunes,
  • learning (remembering) basics of the sand riding.

Expect to spend 3-4 hours in the saddle (100+ kms) and come back after the lunch time. We will have at least one refueling point with the snacks available on the petrol station.

  • Transfer to the hotel.

Day 3 (200+ kms)

  • Breakfast in the hotel,
  • Transfer to the start point,
  • Expect to have a long day in the saddle:
  • Leg 1 will go through the red dunes with plenty of dune crossings. This is very enjoyable but enduring part.
  • Leg 2 will go through the white sands getting closer to Abu Dhabi. This is an easier part where you can relax and enjoy the view. At the end of this leg we will have a refueling point with lunch.
  • Leg 3 will take us to the Arabic desert camp where we can take some rest in the shade and enjoy some cool drinks or nice Arabic coffee.
  • Leg 4 will be the longest and will go through some big and challenging dunes.

Expect to spend up to 6 hours in the saddle (200+ kms) and come back just before the sunset.

  • Getting back to the hotel.

Day 4 transfer to Liwa

  • Breakfast in the hotel,
  • We will leave a bit later in the morning for about 3 hours drive to Liwa,
  • We will have a lunch stop half way through at the Emirates National Cars Museum to see the fascinating private cars collection of one of the Abu Dhabi Sheikhs.
  • We will arrive to the camping spot later in the afternoon and camp overnight.
  • Dinner

Day 5 (160 kms) ride to ADNOC

  • Breakfast in the camp,
  • The ride starts from the camp.

Today we will be on Liwa introduction ride. 80 percent of the terrain will be roll-on vast dunes with some climbing and descending. Very few technical sections.

We will spend 4-5 hours in the saddle (160+ kms). The whole ride will be split into 2 legs. We will get to the petrol station (Leg 1) for the refueling, snack/lunch/rest and through alternative route will ride back to the camp (Leg 2).

  • Arrival to the camp,

Day 6 (120 kms) ride to Hammem

-     Breakfast in the camp,

-     The ride starts from the camp.

The ride to Hammeem is all about having fun riding up and down huge dunes. It is a bit more technical than the Day 5. We will see some traditional Bedouin farms and if lucky, some desert wildlife. We will refuel/lunch/rest in Hammeem (small village) and will head back through alternative route.

We will spend up to 4 hours in the saddle.

-     Arrival to the camp

  • Today we will transfer our camp to the most fascinating area of Liwa – the crescent. This is where the hardest legs of Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge rally go through. And this is where the last episode of the Star Wars had been filmed. Both extremely challenging and at the same time fascinating part of the desert.
  • We will stop at Liwa Hotel for a short touch of civilization: lunch, swimming pool and continue to our camping spot.
  • Arrival to the camping spot.

Day 7 (100-150 km) ride across the Crescent of Liwa

  • Breakfast in the camp,
  • The ride starts from the camp.

Today is the day when you would have to put all your gained skills to the practice. Riding through the crescent demands full focus. The dunes are massive. Descends are high and steep. The climbs are long and technical. It is demanding but very rewarding ride which will most probably leave a big imprint in your heart!

Distance-vise it isn’t so long. But still expect to have a long day in the saddle.

We will have a refueling/snack/lunch point and come back to the camp via alternative route.

  • Arrival to the camp,
  • Today we will have our gala dinner celebrating the completion of your adventure!

Day 8 transfer to DXB

Today we will pack and head away from Liwa back to civilisation. Depending on where and what time your departure is we will either help you with the settling to the Hotel or take you directly to the airport.
